Tequesta & Jupiter Island million dollar condos: waterfront properties
July 26, 2015 | Richard Sites
Tequesta is Jupiter’s city (or Village) on the north side of the Jupiter Inlet and surrounded by water on 3 sides. Waterfront properties can be found along the Intracoastal Waterway, the North Fork of the Loxahatchee River and the Northwest Fork.
Most of the Tequesta waterfront condos are along the western side of the ICW so they have cool morning light and great breezes. The difference in these units is that they lack many of the amenities sought by today’s buyer, but the good thing is the COA fees are low because of this.
Jupiter Island is directly east of Tequesta and forms a protective barrier island. Waterfront condos here have spectacular views of the sparkling Atlantic.
Like the condos in Tequesta, these units are older too which means they may need upgrading or have lower than expected ceilings, around 8 feet. But the units on the east look directly out to the ocean, those on the east look back toward town and the end units have a little of both views.
Right now there are 11 luxury units on the market. Four of the units are in the Claridge, the northernmost of the buildings, with views north up the island over the estate homes. Elin Nordegren looked at these units before purchasing in Seminole Landing.
The median price is $652 per square foot which is also close to the average price.
You might consider owning one of these if you want waterfront luxury, great amenities but no club membership or restrictions. Condo living usually appeals to folks who no longer want to have to maintain a home themselves and prefer to have a Board make the decisions.
