THE MYTH OF THE ST. JOSEPH STATUE

July 27, 2016 Posted by: Richard Sites

When selling a house, sometimes things don’t go quite as planned and the house doesn’t sell.  Some home sellers consider the myth of the St. Joseph statue a viable alternative to improving their value proposition to buyers. In fact, there are entire websites devoted to this selling strategy and you can purchase a “St. Joseph Home Selling Kit” online.  One site claims over 2 million people have followed this plan for selling. Who is St. Joseph?  To quote one site, “Saint Joseph was Jesus earthly father, and raised Gods only […]

July 25, 2016 Posted by: Richard Sites

Admirals Cove is Jupiter’s premier, waterfront community and a large portion of the activity is centered around the Marina.  While slips in the recently remodeled marina are available for rent, the Admirals Cove Yacht Club is the hub of the activities.   ACYC has three major formal events during the yachting season, with the season opener the third week in November, traditionally the Commissioning of the Fleet. The Commodore’s Ball, usually a Black Tie affair, is held in late January.  Near the end of April, they celebrate the new Commodore […]

The average price is over $800,000 but the median is only $485,000.  This is because there are so many condos and townhouses for sale.

Mythbusters: “They have all the buyers”

June 21, 2016 Posted by: Richard Sites

One of the worst places to get accurate real estate information is from the neighbors while you are walking the dog. Something happened today that reminded me of this pitfall you might fall into when listing your home. Over the weekend, 18 properties in this area closed.  Of these 18, only one home was sold by the listing agent. Usually the percentage is higher than is, about 8%. So here are a couple of stories to bust the myth that such and such an agent or company has all the […]

Admirals Cove or Frenchman’s Creek: What’s the difference?

April 27, 2016 Posted by: Richard Sites

Last week, I showed buyers from the UK homes for sale in Admirals Cove and Frenchman’s Creek.  In addition to the homes for sale, I arranged for them to play golf, get tours of the facilities, have a massage as well as enjoy lunch.  I wanted them to see the entire scope of these luxury lifestyles. But what is the difference between Admirals Cove and Frenchman’s Creek?
