RICKIE FOWLER MOVING TO $14 MILLION RIVER HOME
October 4, 2016 | Richard Sites
Rickie Fowler, although not the only PGA Tour pro to call the Jupiter area home, has become somewhat of a local celebrity. Since he bought a home on the Loxahatchee River a few years back, he is spotted in local businesses including the barber shop, a local breakfast house and a friend of mine ran into him buying a smoothie.
Now word is out that he has listed his home and is moving into the Pennock Point home above which was privately listed for $14 million.
His current residence in Carmel Landing is a rather straightforward, ranch house. He paid about $1.6 million and is asking $2.8 million for it. Once he bought it, sightseers caused the traffic to increase to the point where the community installed gates.
But, for a guy who has made nearly $24 million playing golf, it is time to move up to the big leagues like his buddy Dustin Johnson.
Johnson has been active buying and selling in the multi-million dollar range. Last year he purchased an Intracoastal home for near $5 million complete with it’s own island.
Prices for waterfront homes here are skyrocketing. A newly constructed home on Pennock Point just went on the market for a staggering $14 million. And another new, oceanfront home in Jupiter Inlet Colony is listed near $8 million.
Part of the reason is the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale crowd is making it’s way up here and they have big money to spend to escape the congestion of that area.
