Old Palm Golf Club recently hosted the Cigar Aficionado-Wine Spectator Pro-Am golf tournament as a fundraiser for Els for Autism, a foundation that Ernie Els and his wife Liezl established shortly after their son was diagnosed with autism. The Els family are local residents.
The Pro-Am was recently the scene of a much heralded event by PGA Tour Pro and Jupiter resident Rickie Fowler.
Old Palm has the unique feature of a “19th hole”, not the usual one where you grab a drink after a round of golf, but a sort of tie-breaker.
The hole is a short, 113 yard par-3 that is located between the 18th green and the clubhouse. Using a pitching wedge borrowed from Dustin Johnson, Fowler aced the hole which generated a $1 million donation to Ernie’s foundation.
Old Palm is Raymond Floyd’s legacy course in Palm Beach Gardens. Homes are priced from near $1 million to around $12 million and new construction is available.
PGA Tour Pro Lee Westwood has his home listed for just under $11 million.
