Old Cypress Pointe: New homes on the Loxahatchee River
June 1, 2015 | Richard Sites
Old Cypress Pointe is a very small community of riverfront estate homes located on the northwest fork of the Loxahatchee River. The project was started at the peak of the real estate boom, then abandoned for several years while the market recovered.
The location on the river is ideal for the 13 homes here. The community is designed so that some of the homes are waterfront while others are not.
Loxahatchee River homes offer some of the most ideal living in this area and the 13 homes for sale in Old Cypress Pointe were designed to take advantage of one of the last remaining building sites available.
Architecturally, the design style is the more contemporary West Indies style with lots of clean, light lines not the heavy Mediterranean designs of a few years ago. Metal roofs have replaced barrel tiles, dark, wooden floors have replaced Saturnia and the whole feeling inside these houses is much lighter and brighter than designs of a few years ago.
There have been two sales in here in the last year. One house, not on the water, sold at just over $1.1 million which works our to $302 per square foot. The other, a riverfront home, sold at $2.7 million or $462 per square foot.
