Million dollar homes: 7 new ones on the market this week
July 23, 2015 | Richard Sites
Jupiter luxury homes come in all sizes and locations. The Jupiter area actually includes Tequesta to the north and Juno Beach and Palm Beach Gardens to the south. This week so far we have had 7 new homes come on the market priced at $1 million or more and 2 more just $5,000 under the million dollar mark. So, let’s take a look at them.
The highest priced home is a riverfront home on the north fork of the Loxahatchee River and is technically in Tequesta. The home, with 5 bedrooms and 6 baths and 5,500 square feet of living space is priced at $3 million which works out to slightly over $545 per square foot. The home was purchased in April for close to $2.3 million. The picture is courtesy of Picture It Sold and Hughes Realty Group, Inc, listing agent for the home.
The second most expensive home is a sprawling, equestrian compound west of town in Ranch Colony priced just under $3 million. Although the home is modest in size it has luxurious facilities for the horse enthusiast and plenty of room for expansion. The home works out to about $1,400 ft. but the land value comes into play more than the structure. Compounds in Ranch Estates, one section of Ranch Colony, have spreads of 10,20 or even more acreage and this area is one of the best kept secrets in South Florida.
The third luxury home opportunity is a compound of 7 lots on the north end of Jupiter Island. This section, called Bon Air Beach, is closer to Hobe Sound than Jupiter. Someone could combine these lots, like Tiger Woods did, and have an incredible, Jupiter Island estate.
Priced at $1.3 million is a condo in Ocean Royale in Juno Beach, just south of Jupiter. This condo overlooks the sparkling Atlantic and the active Juno beach and Juno beach pier. Luxury abounds in this type of building with every amenity available. This unit has 2,632 square feet, which works out to $ 512/ft., with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths.
The next home is also on the water, but this time its the Northwest Fork of the Loxahatchee River near Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The home is in North Passage, a gated community, and sits on one of two man-made canals. The homes have docks and a peaceful ride down the river and out to the ocean. The home is priced at $1.225 million.
Priced just under $1.2 million is a two story Capistrano model home in San Michele, a small gated enclave of estate homes in Palm Beach Gardens. San Michele is a little different from other luxury communities since there is no amenity package or membership in a club required. The home is big at 4,826 square feet and 6 bedrooms and 6 1/2 baths. Total square footage is just under 6,000. You might like San Michele if you are looking for a luxury home without all the trappings of a busy club like Admirals Cove or Mirasol.
The last home is located on Cresson Island, one of the 27 communities in Jonathan’s Landing. A million dollars is an ambitious price for this home since the last sale in Cresson Island was on the market for 2 years and sold in the mid $600’s. Jonathan’s Landing is one of our finest yet understated clubs with 3 golf courses and plenty of waterfront properties to choose from.
