Mark Calcavecchia sells Tequesta home on the Loxahatchee River

PGA Pro Mark Calcavecchia has sold his riverfront home in Tequesta. He moved from Mirasol Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens to the river in 2007 and paid $1,875,000 for this property. He joined Steve Marino, winner of the British Open, along this open stretch of the river.
The home sold for $5,495,000 in a full price, cash deal after just 41 days on the market. Photo below is courtesy of the listing company Hughes Realty Group, Inc. and is a great example of what aerial photography can do.
Right now there are 47 homes for sale on the river ranging in price to near $8 million. Homes with wide or long views of the river command the highest prices. In fact, sales of homes in the Islands of Jupiter have slowed due to the short views many of them have.
The best deal without a doubt is located off Loxahatchee River road where you can get 120 feet of river frontage on 1.31 acres of land for $2.8 million.
Other older homes on this street are being demolished and mega-mansions are being built. One new construction home is 27,000 square feet in size and the owners consolidated other lots to give them a compound over 6 acres in size. This may be one of the last chances to own such a spectacular location.
