December 8, 2015 | Richard Sites
Mark Calcavechhia, former PGA Tour player and Tequesta resident, has listed his Loxahatchee river home for $5.495 million. He purchased the site with original home in 2007 for $1,875 million.
Listed at this price, the home, with 7,915 feet under air and just under 10,000 total square footage, works out to 694.25 per foot. The new house was built in 2009 and the 2015 taxes are near $65,000. A few doors down, another home is listed at $7.9 million. There are now 49 homes for sale on the Loxahatchee River.
Calcavecchia, who moved from his Porto Vecchio home in Mirasol Country Club, has 13 PGA Tour wins and won The Open in 1989. In 2009, he set a PGA Tour record by getting nine consecutive birdies during his second round at the RBC Canadian Open.
His house is located along the river in Tequesta just off Tequesta Drive where some of the largest riverfront lots are found and neighbors include Joe Namath and Steve Marino. Keegan Bradley and Rickie Fowler are also owners of homes on the Loxahatchee River, but other Tour players like Luke Donald and Rory McIlroy live on the Intracoastal. McIlroy’s girlfriend is a resident of nearby Abacoa.
