Loxahatchee River Homes: Why do people choose the river?
June 25, 2016 | Richard Sites
Jupiter is blessed with miles of waterfront properties. You could pick an estate home in Admirals Cove but why do some people, like Rickie Fowler and John C. Maxwell, choose homes on the Loxahatchee River?
Let’s take a look at the advantages of Loxahatchee River homes versus club community homes.
First, with miles of waterfront properties to choose from you could pick anything from a canal location in Tequesta or North Passage to one with an enormous site for a custom home.
There is currently a home under construction on Bamboo Lane with 27,000 feet under air so you know the lot is huge.
Second, you can pick any view you want. The most common choices are wide or long vs. short. Home prices go up the longer or wider the view is from the location you are considering. Some of the homes for sale in The Islands of Jupiter have very short views while others near Pennock Point look all the way out the Jupiter Inlet.
Third, you may not want a house that looks just like your neighbors. Most of the homes on the river are custom built so they are individual in style and taste.
Fourth, you don’t want or need the amenities of a country club and the associated dues. Most of the memberships in this area run around the $150,000 mark. Of course, you could join Jonathan’s Landing, the only club that allows non-resident memberships.
