The Loxahatchee River.  The name alone (an Indian word for “River of Turtles”) evokes images of a quiet river winding it’s way past massive cypress trees in Riverbend Park, through Jonathan Dickinson State Park and out the Jupiter Inlet.  Along the way it passes turtles sunning themselves and the occasional alligator.  But when the river widens near Tequesta it offers spectacular locations with incredible views and soaring prices for homes and lots.

Loxahatchee River homes for sale

A listing came on the market today at $14.2 million or over $1,300 per foot.  Here’s the view, photo courtesy of Hometakes. If you look carefully you can see the Jupiter Lighthouse just to the right of the palm on the right.

The home, with 10,255 square feet of living space has 6 bedrooms and 7 full baths.  It was built in 2015 by a resident of Old Palm Golf Club.

Of course, the attraction is the location on Pennock Point with 155 feet of river frontage on nearly 1.5 acres. It faces nearly due east and looks toward the ocean.

These massive lots look straight out the Jupiter Inlet to the ocean.  There is 1 fixed bridge though, which will limit the size of the boat you can keep here.

Most yachts and massive sport fishing boats have to be kept on the other side of the Alternate A1A fixed bridge in communities like Admirals Cove or Sawfish Bay Colony.

Prices on Loxahatchee River homes for sale are skyrocketing as the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale crowd moves this way.  A recent check of sales found that nearly 10% of sales in this area were under contract in less than 3 days!

If you are planning on moving this way and are looking at Jupiter waterfront properties along the river, the time to act is now!

In the last 90 days, there have been 13 sales and 5 of them have been over $2 million.
