The Loxahatchee Club: Understated Elegance in the Heart of Jupiter
October 27, 2015 | Richard Sites
The Loxahatchee Club is one of Jupiter’s most elegant and understated golf clubs. While it is a country club, the focus has been on golf since the idea was conceived and designed by Jack Nicklaus.
Jack voiced the idea of designing a first class golf course close to his North Palm home while playing golf with Canadian developer Gordon Gray in 1980 and subsequently 750 acres were purchased in the heart of Jupiter.
In 1985, the course opened and was voted Best New Private Course by Golf Digest magazine. By 1987, it was voted into America’s Top 100 courses.
In 2000, a major clubhouse was completed and by 2003, The Loxahatchee Club was voted into the top 15 courses in America along with Augusta, Pine Valley and Seminole in North Palm Beach.
Right now there are 18 homes for sale in the Loxahatchee Club ranging in price from $275,000 to near $3.5 million.
You might find the personality of the club to your liking if you prefer quiet and understated elegance, are avid golfers or simply don’t want or need the hustle and bustle found in our larger clubs like Admirals Cove.
If you are looking for a luxury club residence, let me give you a private tour of the best clubs. Unlike most agents I have lived here 25 years, played all the top courses and know the market inside and out. In fact, I played the Loxahatchee Club last Friday.
