Jupiter Island: View from the penthouse
June 17, 2016 | Richard Sites
Jupiter Island is one of the most scenic locatiions in America. A coastal, barrier island, Jupiter Island sits off the coast of SE Florida across from Tequesta and Hobe Sound. It is an undisturbed paradise for quiet, old money who winter here or simply want respite from a noisy world.
On the southern tip of the island, condos populate the Intracoastal and ocean shores. Most units have great views and the higher floors have panoramic views of everything from the looking north up Jupiter Island itself to the Jupiter Lighthouse.
Recently, I was in a penthouse, which also had a rooftop patio, and shot this video. Although it was a cloudy day, take a look at the view.
This unit is listed for over $2 million but the views were, in my opinion, the best I have ever seen on Jupiter Island. I have lived here 25 years and know the market inside and out and have been in most of the penthouses that have come on the market.
Every room in the condo had spectacular views, enough to make you stop and simply stare.
Although a penthouse like this has a fantastic view, it has a price tag to match. There are other units in the older buildings on Jupiter Island that offer great views with lower prices and modest COA fees. The fees are lower in the older buildings since they do not have the burden of luxury amenities found in newer complexes like Jupiter Yacht Club or Ocean Royale.
And these luxury units do not have any better views than condos on Jupiter Island, they just have more amenities and luxury features like 10 – 12 foot ceilings.
