Jupiter Island estate hits the market at $65 million

A massive compound on Jupiter Island has hit the market at a staggering $65 million. This price was equaled only by Greg Norman’s listing on Jupiter Island when, word was, he really didn’t want to sell and dwarfs other luxury waterfront properties in locations like Admirals Cove, where the highest priced listing is $10 million, or the Loxahatchee River, where the highest priced home is $7.9 million.
$65 million is more in line with Palm Beach estates on the ocean but even surpasses the $25 million Tony Robbins recently paid for his home there.
The property is owned by Italian businessman Frank Luppi and stretches from the sparkling Atlantic to the tranquil Intracoastal spanning 8 1/2 acres. Seven buildings are located on the land forming a compound which, according to trend setters, is the latest fashion instead of just one massive home.
Years ago, I was at Rush Limbaugh’s home on Palm Beach and recall there were 5 buildings on his property.
You can see all exquisite photographs of this home by noted real estate photographer Robert Stevens on the Wall St. Journal web site by using this link. For videos on Jupiter Island and our Coastal Florida lifestyle visit my You Tube channel where there are over 350 to choose from.
According to an article from WSJ.com: “Accessed through an elaborate archway, the Atlantic side of the property includes the main house and four guesthouses, one of which has a spa attached. Overlooking the ocean, the roughly 8,600-square-foot main house is topped by five golden domes, each of which is nearly 30 feet high. An outdoor staircase connects the main house to the spa, which contains a gym, massage room and sauna as well as its own swimming pool, living room, dining room and kitchen.
The Intracoastal side of the estate has a self-contained guest compound including a four-bedroom house with its own swimming pool and separate pool house, as well as two deep-water docks with room for multiple vessels.”
Many of the homes on the more narrow parts of Jupiter Island have Intracoastal docks on separate parcels across from the main house which would be located on the ocean side which allows you to keep a yacht at your home. Alan Jackson had this arrangement and it is popular on South Palm Beach and Manalapan. Here’s a shot taken of Luppi’s Intracoastal side property.
Aggregating properties together is nothing new but it is gaining momentum around here. Bill Gates bought up, or is buying, all the homes around his home in Wellington. And over on the Loxahatchee River an owner recently bought 6 homes to give him enough room for a 27,000 foot house.
