Jupiter Farms: Estate Homes Coming to Burt Reynolds Ranch
February 18, 2016 | Richard Sites
Burt Reynolds. The name is synonymous with Jupiter and in particular, Jupiter Farms. Now, the first of the new estate homes to be built in Jupiter Farms on the site of the former Burt Reynolds Ranch has been listed in the MLS.
Jupiter Farms, a semi-rural, Residential/Agricultural area west of the Town of Jupiter, is a 16 square mile area where about 5,000 homes are typically situated on 1.25 acres or more and where residents who value peace, quiet, wildlife and no HOA restrictions come to live.
History of the site
Reynolds, Jupiter’s most famous son, once had a tourist destination here called Reynolds Ranch. Located on Jupiter Farms Road, the site has natural spring-fed ponds and a landing strip on it. Buddy, as he was called, was actually from Riviera Beach to the south where his father was police chief but adopted Jupiter as his home and shot movies and TV shows here.
Burt has been gone for a long time, moving to Tequesta, and his 3.5 acre compound on the Intracoastal Waterway recently sold. The Farms property has been gated and overgrown and was most recently owned by the Palm Beach County School Board. It is still the site of the Town & Country Feed, a cornerstone of Jupiter Farms life, owned and run by Reynolds’ nephew.
The homes and other communities
The property was purchased by Hovnanian Homes and subdivided for 30 estate homes. The first of these has hit the MLS priced at $874,900. It is a model called “Mystique” and offers 3,152 square feet of living space.
Even with 1.5 acres, this is still a high price for a new home in Jupiter Farms. Closer in to town, DiVosta is selling new homes in Sonoma Isles and Toll Brothers is still selling homes in Jupiter Country Club. The Sonoma Isles homes are priced from the mid-$600’s but the Toll homes are priced nearer $1 million.
Each of the builder’s locations have different features and benefits so be sure to check with me to find out which one might work best for your family and lifestyle. No matter how you slice it, a new home in Florida located just 15 minutes from free beaches will never be a bad investment.
Like all locations in Jupiter, the famous beach is only about 15 minutes away. The Roger Dean Stadium, spring training home for the Florida Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals as well as the Jupiter Hammerheads, is also about 15 minutes away in Abacoa. Florida Atlantic University has its Honors Campus in Abacoa too.
Both the Florida Turnpike and I-95 have exits here and it is the only place in the county where the exits are side by side which means no matter which you use for commuting, the road is less than 5 minutes from your home.
Hop on I-95 and you can also arrive in downtown West Palm Beach or the Palm Beach International Airport in about 20 minutes.
New homes are going up all over Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens again. If you are thinking of a new home, let’s talk. It will never cost you to use an agent when making a new home purchase but it might cost you if you don’t.
I have sold homes in several new communities around and unlike most agents, have lived here 25 years and know the market inside and out. Call me directly at 561-762-4073 or use the contact form below.
