HISTORIC WATERFRONT HOME ACROSS FROM MAR-A-LAGO
December 2, 2016 | Richard Sites
West Palm Beach has some historic neighborhoods near downtown. This is the oldest section of town and like many waterfront towns, development started along the Intracoastal Waterway, both on the mainland and across the Intracoastal Waterway on Palm Beach. This part of Palm Beach island is where Mar-a-Lago, the new southern White House, is located. This shot shows the tower and flag on Mar-a-Lago in the distance across from the mainland.
Recently, I visited an open house there and shot this casual video walk about. Take a look.
This house is listed near $4 million and was originally located to the north in Stuart. In the late 1990’s it was moved down the Intracoastal Waterway to its current location.
It has a charming interior with oak floors and a tastefully updated kitchen. Like many estates it has a pool within a tropical setting.
There is always a great selection of homes for sale along the waterfront between Okeechobee Boulevard and south past Southern Boulevard, which is the southern access road over to Palm Beach. This waterfront location includes the area known as El Cid.
