ARE YOU OFFERING BUYERS A CHARGING STATION?
October 7, 2017 | Richard Sites
Tesla made an announcement this week that production of their electric cars was ramping up. This joins Ford and GM who both announced plans to step up production of their models too due to their increasing popularity.
So the question is, are you offering buyers a charging station at your home? Or, why would you? Let’s talk about it.
Luxury, not necessity, is a dominant theme around Jupiter. I was once in a waterfront estate where the shutters closed automatically when the barometric pressure dropped a certain percentage. These shutters are certainly a luxury item.
Another luxury item is the hot water re-circulating pump so you never have to wait for hot water no matter how far you are from the tank. Hotels have used this system for years. Luxury, not necessity.
Many luxury items seldom get used but it is really important to have them not necessarily use them.
But as electric cars become more and more popular, having a personal charging station is going to become more important.
Think about this. Suppose a person, who is driving an electric car with a limited range, comes to your house and uses over half their power supply getting there. How will they get home?
Well, when they arrive you will simply plug them into your personal charger.
And as battery technology continues to improve, solar power and charging systems will probably become the norm.
Most hotels in this area already have charging stations. The photo above was taken at the PGA National Resort and everytime I meet clients there all the stations are being used.
I have not seen any luxury homes advertising charging stations yet, but I suspect there will be some in the near future.
