Burt Reynolds Park in Jupiter is always busy
May 5, 2015 | Richard Sites
Here in Jupiter, the ocean is part of our lifestyle. Whether it’s heading over to the beach with the family dog, surfing or kite boarding, or heading out for a day of fishing the ocean is included in almost everything we do.
And since boating is a major part of the lifestyle here, the local boat ramp Burt Reynolds Park, is always busy on the weekend. The ramp is located on what was once part of the original intracoastal waterway for the Jupiter River as it wound its way south.
You can launch your boat from the east or west side of US one with most of the larger boats going over to the west side. From here the run out to the ocean is only about five minutes away the at the Jupiter Inlet. You’ll pass the famous Jupiter lighthouse and once you pass the final channel marker signs you can throttle up and head directly out for great day fishing or diving. Of course, the Bahamas are only about 45 miles away so the larger boats can run right over to the islands.
